At a simple ceremony held at the headquarters of local beverage giants Demerara Distillers
Limited (DDL), Pepsi Hornets Rugby Football Club were the recipients of much needed spanking new playing outfits under the Pepsi Brand.
Pepsi Brand Manager Larry Wills commented: “Demerara Distillers Limited under its Pepsi brand is very happy to renew our long standing partnership with the Pepsi Hornets RFC. Pepsi has been sponsoring the Hornets Rugby team for over 10 years and we really like the commitment and professionalism that is displayed by the team. We will continue to give as much support as possible to the Pepsi Hornets Rugby football team in 2016 as they strive to succeed in all competitions.”
In response, Captain of Pepsi Hornets, National player Ryan Gonsalves expressed delight and heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the club to DDL and Pepsi whilst pledging to continue the strong winning tradition as well as confidence placed in the Club by its sponsors.
The Rugby scrums off on January 23 next with the North vs South 15s match as well as two women’s 10-a-side teams facing off. The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) 15s league will commence on January 30.
