The East Bank Demerara/Upper Demerara Association failed to win a match in the just concluded Cricket Guyana Inc. Local Franchise League, but the executives felt it was a great idea to get the players socially together and reward some of the outstanding performers at a simple ceremony held at the Sumintra Singh Players Pavilion at Farm Community Centre Ground.

Coach of the East Bank Demerara/Upper Demerara Association Clive Grimmond pointed out that there are lots to be done but the social event for comradery among the guys is a good start”. The coach recognized that the league team had little preparation going into the competition but it is not an excuse for the performance and urged the players to see the bigger picture of being one step closer to the national team.
The association’s first vice president Rohan Sarjoo told the players that discipline, attitude and self-belief are important to reach higher heights. Sarjoo said that the East Bank Demerara/Upper Demerara Association has retained the services of Coach Grimmond for 2016 and although the association is not doing well financially he will stand the cost for the services of the coach for the first and second months on the job of developing the cricket talents along the East Bank of Demerara and in Linden. Sarjoo noted that the association has a bowling machine that needs utilization and encouraged the players to make full use of it.
The executives of the East Bank Demerara/Upper Demerara Association presented a thigh pad to Ershad Ali, a pair of batting pads to Stephan Browne and a pair of batting gloves to Danny Narayan to help with their cricket development.
