An 18-year-old girl was killed shortly before Christmas Eve, after another vehicle slammed into a car in which they were travelling.
The victim was identified as Camille Chandini Pereira called “Pinkey Loo,” of Lot II Bent Street Wortmanville.
The former North Ruimveldt Secondary student was in the company of two friends.
The accident occurred while they were heading west along Croal Street.
Some reports indicate that the driver lost control and overturned near a bridge after another vehicle slammed into his car.
“People heard screaming then they heard the impact.”
Four other persons were reportedly in the vehicle. Another female is said to be hospitalised with fractured ribs.
The driver is in police custody.
Rajkumarie Pereira, the dead teen’s mother, was being consoled yesterday at her home by relatives and friends who were still in disbelief that the young woman was dead.
