Following a hectic 2015 where the biggest event for the Caribbean was the
World Championships and Palma Match at Camp Perry, Ohio, USA, local riflemen settled down to contest the National Championships at the Guyana Defense Force Ranges, Yarrowkabra, Linden Soesdyke Highway.
When the dust was settled following three days of shooting at the 300, 500, 600, 900 and 1000 yards ranges, a new national champion emerged in the form of Ransford Goodluck who dethroned Lennox Braithwaite in the process.
Apart from being crowned champion and being rewarded by the Guyana NRA at a presentation ceremony that was held on Friday last at the Crown Mining Supply Roof Gardens, Middleton Street, Campbellville, Goodluck was also crowned king of the Long Range and received the Denise Carryl Long Range Trophy for his efforts at the 1000 yards shoot.
