A 45-year-old Trulie Island man is battling for his life at the Suddie Public hospital, after his wife dealt him several chops to his head Thursday morning at the couple’s Trulie Island home, in the Essequibo River.
The father of four went home drunk Thursday morning and started to abuse his wife. During the heated argument, the report stated, the man in a rage started to curse and strike his wife. It was also reported that the man threw away the food that was offered to him.
It was during the physical brawl that the wife chopped him after he chopped the palm of her hand. It is understood that the laborer’s wife picked up the same cutlass and chopped him to his head.
Due to the severity of the chops the laborer sustained, his wife was forced to transport him to the Suddie Public Hospital where he remains in a critical state.
