Over 80 entered for $10M race meet tomorrow

With some last minute juggling taking place and action time just one day away it has been confirmed that over 80 entries have been received for the Guyana Cup Rematch Horserace meet slated for tomorrow at the Port
Mourant Turf Club (PMTC), Corentyne Berbice. Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited and The Trophy Stall have come on board for the year end day of races in a big way.
Banks DIH cemented their commitment with the handing over their sponsorship to Justin Ally, who collected the trophy for the feature event from Banks DIH rep Gavin Jodhan in the presence of Nasrudeen (Jumbo Jet) Mohamed Jnr. yesterday.
At the moment the facilities at the PMTC is in the best of condition with the stands, track and paddock all being spruced up and a day of action pack racing is anticipated.
The event which is sponsored by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables in collaboration with the PMTC has a massive $10M injection. Nine top of the line races are on the cards with most of the top horses in the country slated to participate.
The Jumbo Jet stable has so far confirmed 11 runners for the day’s event.
The feature event is for animals classified A1 and lower and is expected to see the best in the business as they compete for the whopping $1.2M available for the winner from a $3M prize package and trophy over 1800M.
Horses such as CP Got Even, Just Call Me boss, Princess She is not, Spit Fire, Diplomatic Cat, Jack in My Style, Bridal Stone Corner, Unsettled, Kazi Azari, Giant Time, Africanists and Lady Budapest among others are all expected to participate in the feature event.
Horses such as Donut Prince, Strom Bird, Big man Boss, She So Special, Appealing Harvest, Cassie, Keep on Swinging, Red and Lovely, Release The beast, Rosetta, IT MY Choice, Amazon Warrior, Red Rocket, Storm Mark, Fire ball, Golden Kiss Mary Ann, Sweet Return, Cat Messiah, Western Charm, Top Of the Line, The Girl Is Mine, Party Time, Affinity, Week end Surprise, Maggaline, Back Track, She in Control, Prince Maya, De Gump, Noble Impact, Red Jet, Mystic, Red Region, Plane Land, Liquid Lion, Little, Windy Killer, Up Front Blue Lightning, Miss Doubt Fire, Miss Regina, 3P Prince and Secret Escape are among the lot to have entered so far.
The other races on the day’s card are for; E1 and lower catering for two year old American bred maiden horses with the distance now 1000M. The first prize remains $800,000 and trophy.
The other events on the day’s car are -The event for E1 and lower horses will not cater for 4 year old animals anymore, but two years old American bred maiden horses with the distance now 1000M. The first prize remains $800,000 and trophy.
The three year old West Indies and Guyana bred event is a 1500M affair for a winning purse of $600,000 and trophy.
The F3 and lower event will be a 1300M affair for a $500,000 winner’s take and trophy.
The Two year old event for West Indies Bred horses has its first prize tagged at $400,000 and trophy now over 1200M.
The H1 and lower 1200M race has a winning pocket of $400,000 and trophy.
The event for two year old horses has a take home of $300,000 and trophy over 1000M.
The J class event is now for J3 and lower horses over 1000M for the winning pocket of $250,000 and trophy.
The final event is for animals classified K and Lower over a distance of 1000M for a winning purse of $150,000 and trophy.
The top Jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer will all be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall and the organizers.
Patrons and other turfites visiting the event are encouraged to go early since the various sponsors along with the organizers have put together some interesting incentives for lucky patrons and participants including some massive giveaways.
The event will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
