A fine all-round performance by Zaheer Mohamed Shadir guided host Enterprise XI
to a five-wicket victory over Enmore in the final of the Busta T20 Festival on Sunday last. Mohamed bagged 4-28 from four overs as Enmore were bowled out for 111 in 19 overs, batting first. Vivian Albert and R. Pooran supported with 2-13 and 2-27 respectively. Imran Hassan struck 31 for the visitors while Keno Ramascindo made 22.
Mohamed then stroked an unbeaten 38 to guide Enterprise to 112-5 with two overs to spare. Rohan Mangal and Nishad Ulla scored 22 apiece; seamer Gavin Moriah picked up 3-14 off four overs. Mohamed copped the Man-of-the-Match, Best Batsman and Best Bowler awards.
Enterprise A beat Buxton by eight wickets in the third place game played earlier. In a match reduced to 10 overs, Buxton posted 50-7, taking first strike. M. Cole got 19; V. Sundar snared 3-14 and Seemangal Yadram 2-4.
Enterprise A responded with 51-2. S. Mohabir and R. Beepat scored 27 and 15 respectively; Cole had 2-20. Enterprise XI took home $50,000 and the Busta trophy, while Enmore had to settle for $25,000 and a trophy. Trophies were also given to the winner of the third place playoff.
The competition was organised by the Enterprise Busta Sports Club and sponsored exclusively by Guyana Beverage Company Inc.
