As the season of love and sharing continues, the Gafoors Group of Companies hosted a grand Christmas party yesterday at its Houston complex. The festivities attracted scores of children and senior citizens, who came from various villages, orphanages and geriatric homes across the country.
The event was a special one because it served so many children within a short period of time. The Christmas spirit was much alive as Santa Claus interacted and took photos with almost everyone.
Smiles were plastered on all faces as the sound of steel pan music serenaded the event. Some began dancing to the Christmas tunes, while others sat swaying from side to side.
Each child was treated to hot meals and a gift.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sattaur Gafoor and his wife, Ameena Gafoor were actively involved in the distribution of food and gifts to their guests. Mrs. Gafoor told reporters that the company has a tradition of bringing cheer to the less fortunate during the festive season. She said that the company has been feeding the less fortunate for over two decades.
According to Mrs. Gafoor, they would also do charitable works in celebration of Eid. She stated that Gafoors would usually give monetary donations to the elderly and would provide them with blankets. The woman, who is also the Managing Director of Gafoors, assured that the company will continue with the initiative because many persons look forward to it every year.
