TNT and Scramblers registered victories when action in the Orin Joseph Memorial Dominoes competition continued recently at Turning Point. TNT chalked up 72 games to beat Saddam 70 and Rugged 64 in their encounter. Ryan Boodhoo and Shawn Morgan marked 15 each for the winners.
Leroy Edwards made the maximum 18 while Paul Sugrim and Soroz Rooplall got 15 apiece for Saddam. Earl Lauren and Osmond Braithwaite scored 17 and 16 respectively for Rugged. Scramblers notched up 81 to beat Spartons 75 and Transport SC 66. Basil Bradshaw chalked the utmost 18 for Scramblers, Raul Peters and Clarence Whitehead got 17 and 14 in that order for Spartons. Leroy Rodney was Transport SC leading player with 15 games.
Meanwhile, Whitie Sports Bar of Best Road, West Coast Demerara will be hosting a 12-team competition starting at 15:00hrs on Sunday. The tournament will see six of the leading teams from Georgetown – Phantom, C Point, Thunder, Rage, Spartons and Rugged playing against their West Demerara counterparts; Brothers, Frankie, Mix Up, Determine, Shop and West Side. The winning team will take home a trophy and $70,000 and the runner up a trophy and $30,000; trophies will be provided by Trophy Stall Bourda Market. Entrance fee is $10,000.
