Petra Organisation, Organisers of the Courts Pee Wee (Boys), Smalta / Ministry of Public Health (Girls), Milo Secondary Schools (Boys) and the recently concluded GTT / Limacol Football Competitions have always articulated the position of assisting in the development of the sport locally.
The Organisation’s commitment to the sport’s growth was once again emphasised during the staging of the just concluded GTT / Limacol finals when Director Troy Mendonca handed over a quantity of trophies to President of the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) Sharma Solomon in the presence of executive members at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground on Sunday.
Mendonca in brief remarks told the media that the donation was made after a plea for support was made by the UDFA and the gift will go towards the staging of the Association’s Under-17 League scheduled to commence soon.
Mendonca extended gratitude to the following associations, the Berbice Football Association, East Coast Demerara Football Association and the UDFA for their support in supplying the teams that participated in the just concluded competition.
A former President of the Georgetown Football Association, Mendonca urged all genuinely concerned with the sport’s expansion to come together and forge stronger relationships for the good of the game.
