When the battle lines are drawn between old rivals Grove Hi Tech and Agricola Red Triangle today at the Grove Playfield, the former will be going all out for a clean sweep of Group B in the SUNBURST sponsored East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Under-17 league’s penultimate group stage match.
Agricola on the other hand, are in a must win situation in a game they must win in order to stake a claim for a place in the semi finals; they are on 3 points, the same as Soesdyke Falcons who will play Kuru Kururu Warriors in the final group game tomorrow from 14:30hrs at the same venue.
Grove, the defending champions are on 6 points accumulated from two wins against Soesdyke and the Warriors, blasting a total of 12 goals in the process. The home team will be aiming to continue their rich scoring form and leading their quest in this regard will be the leading goal scorer to date, Kevin Dalton who has 5.
Able support will come from Denzil Crawford, Kevin Padmore, Randy Smartt, Nicholai Matthews, Threvon Pluck and Tevin Millington among others.
Agricola opened with a win against KK Warriors but were thumped by Soesdyke in their second game and will be under tremendous pressure to hold off the rampaging Grove boys. Leading the charge of Agricola will be Colin John Jr., Daniel Holder, Shamar Charles, Brian Price, Isaiah Moore, Shamar Hincks, David Corica and Kevin Narine.
An exciting match is anticipated. Already through to the semi finals which will be contested next Saturday are Herstelling Raiders and Mocha Champs, the first and second placed teams in Group A.
