The newly formed Matarkai Sports Committee (MSC) of Port Kaituma, Region One yesterday
received a number of Scotiabank Kiddy cricket kits from the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) to aid with the development of the sport there. The simple presentation took place at the board’s office, Regent Street.
Chairman of the Committee Sherlon Rodrigues welcomed the initiative and thanked the board for their timely donation. He added that the primary schools students will benefit since the equipment will be used to teach them the basics of the game. Territorial Development Officer Colin Stuart said he is happy that the board has offered assistance to the committee and they will continue to support the game in the area.
