Set for Sunday December 20th at PMTC
With less than three weeks to go before race date the organisers of the second Guyana Cup Re-match horserace meet has made some changes to the programme to accommodate more horses.
The event is set for Sunday 20th December at the Port Mourant Turf Club (PMTC) and is organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables in collaboration with the PMTC.
The major change has seen the addition of two new events and the dropping of one to cater for more horses while a few distances have been adjusted due to numerous requests by horse owners.
There is an event now for F3 and lower horses and Guyana Bred two years old animals, while the Event for G1 and lower horses has been dropped.

The feature event is for animals classified A1 and lower which has a whopping $1.2M available for the winner from a sumptuous $3M prize package and trophy over 1800M.
The event for E1 and lower horses will not cater for 4 year old animals anymore, but two years old American bred maiden horses with the distance now 1000M. The first prize remains $800,000 and trophy.
In the three year old West Indies and Guyana bred event which is a 1500M affair, will be for a winning purse of $600,000 and trophy.
The recently installed F3 and lower event will be a 1300M affair for a $500,000 and trophy winning take.
The Two year old event for West Indies Bred horses has its first prize tagged at $400,000 and trophy now over 1200M.
The H1 and lower 1200M race has a winning pocket of $400,000 and trophy.
The newly added event for two year old horses will see the top runner taking home $300,000 and trophy over 1000M.
The J class event is now for J3 and lower horses over 1000M for the winning pocket of $250,000 and trophy.
There is an event for K and Lower horses, running over a distance of 1000M for a winning purse of $150,000 and trophy.
The top Jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer will all be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the organizers.
Entries are expected to close on Saturday 12th December.
The organisers have also put together some interesting incentives for lucky patrons and participants that will be unveiled later. The event will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority
