The brother of murdered Robb Street woman, Clementine Feidtkou-Parris, had identified two of the accused persons, as the men, who were involved in the execution attack on his sister in June 2011.
The statements and deposition of Fitzroy Feidtkou (deceased) were yesterday admitted as evidence in the trial of the four persons accused of killing Clementine Feidtkou-Parris.
Police Sergeant Neville Jeffers, read out statements taken from the victim’s 74-year-old brother to the court. The elderly man had allegedly witnessed the crime. According to the statements, Feidtkou gave police a detailed account on the night the shooting occurred.
In the statement Feidtkou, outlined that he had an encounter with two men who had entered his sister’s yard that night; he said that he was seated on the stairs of his sister’s house when two men came in and asked for “Aunty.”
He said that as his sister came to the hall of the house, one of the men pushed him and opened fire on her. Feidtkou told police, in the statement, that he had a brief scuffle with the gunman before his sister was riddled with bullets.
He recalled that one of the men was medium built, dark in complexion and about 5″7″ in height; the other one had a hat over his face. According to the document, the man said he could have identified both the men, since he had looked at them for approximately four minutes.
Feidtkou had subsequently attended an identification parade, where he pointed out the number one accused, Orwin Hinds and the number four accused, Troy Jacobs, as the two men who entered the yard, on the night his sister was shot and killed. Feidtkou had identified Jacobs as the shooter.
According to the statements, the elderly man had further detailed to police, that his sister was involved in a number of court battles over the land they occupied. According to him, the land was owned by an overseas – based Guyanese woman, who died in the United States.
Feidtkou had explained that he and his sister had been paying rent to a woman, who claimed to be Power of Attorney for the property, but that she had been collecting money under false pretence. He related that during this time the land was purportedly sold to Pete’s Realty and to Trans Pacific Auto Sales.
According to the documents, the witness said that the matter had engaged the court’s attention and the woman lost the case.
Some time after, he said his sister Clementine Feidtkou had filed for prescriptive rights for the property. Feidtkou noted, however, that a man from Trans Pacific Auto Sales dealership had afterwards approached him and identified himself as the new owner of the property.
He said that the man from “Trans” told him that they needed to move because he wanted to start repairing the place.
The witness noted, however, that the man never provided them with any proof that he was indeed the new owner.
The elderly man had related to the police, that his sister also received word that the spare parts dealership had assumed possession of the property, but she was never threatened by anyone.
Fiedtkou-Parris was shot and killed in her home on June 30, 2011 by gunmen, who were reportedly hired to end her life over a property dispute. On the day of the shooting, two men reportedly went to the woman’s Lot 42 Robb Street residence and requested an audience with her.
Upon hearing the persons requesting her presence, she moved to the door. The gunmen opened fire on her, hitting her several times about the body.
It was reported that after the shooting, the suspects made their escape in a waiting car. However, the men were purportedly caught on video camera committing the act. The gunmen were paid to end the woman’s life.
Four men are currently on trial at the Georgetown High Court for the murder. Orwin Hinds, called “Red Man,” of Burnham Boulevard, Mocha, East Bank Demerara; Kevin October called, “Troy,” of Second Street, Agricola, East Bank Demerara; Cleon Hinds, and Roy Jacobs called “Chippie” or “Black Boy” of Evans Street, Charlestown, are facing Justice Navindra Singh and a mixed jury.
The men are being represented by Attorneys -at- Law, George Thomas, Moti Singh, Raymond Alli and Maxwell Mc Kay. The case is being presented by State Prosecutors Teeshana Lake and Narissa Leander.
