Five Primary Schools on the East Coast of Demerara have qualified for the Finals of the National Sports Commission’s (NSC) Inter-Primary School competition scheduled for Friday at the Lusignan Community Centre ground from 09:00hrs.
Novar, Helena, Enterprise, Lusignan and Mon Repos are the schools that qualified for the tournament after the last zone match was played last Friday at the Better Hope ground.
In a competition Organised by the NCS’s Cricket Coach Daniel Richmond, BV lost to Mon Repos by seven wickets in sunny conditions.
BV batted first on a slow pitch and made 48-6 off six overs as Skipper Jason Mitchell hit three fours in 17 while Extras contributed 13.
Verun Mangle took 2-10 for Mon Repos who responded with 50-3 from 5.1 overs with Mangle returning with the bat to reach the boundary four times in 20 and Kapil Dev Phagoo stroked three fours in 18.
