Police investigators in the Norfolk, Virginia, USA area are probing the shooting of a young Guyanese woman outside a suburban complex two Sundays ago.
The woman identified as 33-year-old Naminatha Toussaint-Henry, also called Nata originated from New Amsterdam Berbice, Guyana.
According to reports, she was out clubbing with friends and had just dropped a friend home when tragedy struck. “I’m heartbroken. They went to a club then she went to drop off Sue (Suzanne Hing) and was shot about her upper body,” her friend told Kaieteur News. Another said, “It hurts so much thinking of what happened to her.”
After a girl’s night out she reportedly was driving out of the area when the friend Sue heard several gunshots.
The friend reportedly told investigators and the media in Norfolk that she was already in her house when she heard five gunshots shortly after Nata had left.
“Sue called her to ask if she heard the shots and Nata told her that she was shot and she couldn’t breathe,” a friend in the USA reported.
Henry was rushed to the hospital where she remains under medical care. She resides with her husband and other relatives all of whom are devastated and are at a loss as to what was the cause of the shooting.
