Female amateur boxer Taseka Howard was the recipient of some gears from United States based Guyanese Michael Carryl yesterday.
Howard, who is the daughter of former boxer Vincent Howard, received head guard,
gloves and boots from Carryl. Carryl has been involved in boxing for many years, mainly as a promoter and referee in the US and on occasions Guyana. He has expressed his passion for the sport and the deep desire to help his countrymen to achieve their goals in the sport and bring accolades to Guyana. Carryl has raised funds in the past and provided scholarships for several Caribbean boxers.
He noted that he has been keeping in touch with Vincent Howard since their inaugural meeting and collaboration some years back and has developed a healthy regard for him due to not only his talent, but his discipline.
The younger Howard, Taseka, has shown promise fighting out of the Bantamweight division and trains at the Forgotten Youth Foundation Gym in Albouystown.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
