Mahaica Helena defeated Gibson Unity when the National Sports Commission inter-primary schools
cricket competition continued recently on the East Coast of Demerara.
Mahaica Helena batted first and scored 99-1 off their allotted five overs. Mario Persaud slammed nine sixes in scoring an unbeaten 67 while Lakeram Persaud made 18 not out (2×4). Gibson Unity responded with 57-4. Timothy Robinson struck 23 (4×4); Mario Persaud had 2-17.
Coordinator Daniel Richmond informed that the competition will continue tomorrow involving schools from Ann’s Grove to Paradise and on Friday from Plaisance to Better Hope.
