Everest Cricket Club all-rounder Manjrekar Bhola enjoyed productive season in the recently concluded Eastern America Cricket Association 40-over tournament. The right-handed Bhola who represented Gladiators CC ended the season as the number one ranked player with 511 runs at an average of 40.1 and 27 wickets at an economy rate of 3.67 with his best being 4-14 against Camelot CC.
Bhola helped his team to the final of the tournament which they eventually lost to Falcons CC. He notched up two centuries and one half century. His first ton, 103 not out came against Camelot CC in his fourth game while his second, 108 was scored in the semi final against Victory CC.
Bhola told Kaieteur Sport that he is satisfied with his performance in the league stating that there is a lot of competition for places in the team so he had to be at his best throughout. He added that playing there has improved his game a lot and he is looking forward to the local competitions. “The exposure served me well in that I have learnt to play on different surfaces. I am looking forward to share my knowledge with my team mates at Everest and I am eager to play in the local tournaments,” he posited.
Bhola is expected to turn out for Everest CC shortly.
