As a leading health insurance provider, Guyana and Trinidad Mutual (GTM) appreciates
the importance of fitness. As a result the entity has partnered with the Guyana Fitness Games for the hosting of its inaugural Health and Fitness Expo on October 24 and 25 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The event was launched on Wednesday night at 704 Sports Bar.
The GTM health and fitness expo will be made up of exhibits from the health sector offering pharmaceuticals and various testing including blood pressure and eye.
There will also be 30 minutes fitness sessions by some of the best instructors locally in Karate, Capoeira, dancing and bodybuilding.
Fans will also be treated to some exciting volleyball, football, Basketball, powerlifting and crossfit challenges. The objectives of the event are to increase fitness, showcase health resources available locally and to encourage Guyanese to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The ‘Guyana Fitness games’ is the team that successfully introduced the inaugural cross fit games to Guyana which was held last year.
Roger Yee of GTM said they are pleased to be associated with the Guyana Fitness Games for the event and their decision to be the main sponsor is reflected in their theme for 2016 ‘Live your life, stay strong’.
Yee added that the concept is a fantastic idea and he is confident the event will be successful and will contribute to building awareness around the importance of health and fitness in Guyana. The other sponsors are Genesis Express, Fitness Express, Courts, De Sinco Trading and Wings Investments while the exhibitors are 2 Pares Health Mart, Axe Apparel, Fitness Paradise Health Bar, Juice Up, All Natural, Eye Wear Optical, Fitness Express and Genesis Fitness Express.
