Raynauth ‘Obeah Man’ Jeffrey blisters field in feature event
His performance was as hot and scorching as the current weather pattern being experienced;
it was Raynauth ‘Obeah Man’ Jeffrey at the inner circuit of the National Park yesterday in the feature event of the 11th annual Hand-in-Hand Insurance 11-race cycling National Park Meet.
The Team Coco’s rider lapped the 23-man field on his was to recording a resounding win. So dominating was Jeffrey, who recently returned from the USA following a surgery to his collar bone following an accident; that he achieved the feat of lapping the field by lap 17.
He won six of the eight sprint prizes as he stopped the clock at in One Hour, 17 Minutes, 01.99 Seconds.
Jeffrey’s teammate Hamzah Eastman placed second and was followed by Raul Leal (Team Gillette Evolution), Junior Niles (Team Coco’s), Horace Burrowes (Guyana Cycling Federation President), and Stephano Husbands (Team Coco’s). Husbands and Jamal won a sprint prize each.

Hand-in-Hand Insurance has maintained its tradition of presenting BMX bicycles and helmets to three young promising cyclists. This year’s recipients are Simon Chee, Ajani Cutting and John Niles. Representing the sponsors at yesterday’s activity was Ms. Savita Singh, Ms. Chandranie Karran and Ms. Bonicka Gordon.
National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed MS., coordinated the event.
