Stag Elite League leaders Fruta Conquerors will be going all out to increase their advantage at the top when they entertain the Guyana Defence Force in the feature game of today’s double header.
Boasting two wins from as many matches to date, the only team with that distinction so far, Tucville boys will be a confident unit coming against the Army which has a win and a loss from their two matches.
The first line of focus would be defence for both teams, Conquerors have been very mean in this regard having scored three goals while conceding just one; the GDF have also scored three but have conceded a similar amount.
Alex in goal will again be pivotal for the home team along with Captain Trevon Lythcott in defence, Chavez Hescott, Eon Alleyne, Jermaine Junor and Kwame LaFleur.
The GDF will look to Eusi Phillips, Delwyn and Delroy Fraser, custodian Oswald Cornette, Carlos Adams and Akeemo Watts to chart their way to their second win.
Opening action between Pele and Buxton United will see the former going into the game as favourites with an unbeaten record to defend, Buxton will be looking to secure their first win and remove from the bottom of the standings, Pele lay fourth.
Gregory Richardson will again be leading Pele’s quest for full points with usual support from Travis Grant, Omallo Williams, Deon Alfred, Shemroy Arthur and Keoma Greasvande.
Buxton will have to step up their game if they are to keep Pele at bay; they have not scored a single goal to date and the spotlight will be on Clive Andries, their main weapon up front to produce that elusive goal.
Jason Cromwell in goal, Denver Dennis, Dillon Wright, Shemar Fraser and Inceford Charles will all be have to step up their game to see Buxton to victory.
