Florida, US- A suburban West Palm Beach family confirmed a missing man has been found dead.
Michael Sears, 31, disappeared on Friday, August 28.
He is said to be a Guyanese from Linden.
His family said his body was found in water near the intersection of Fairgreen and Drexel Roads in West Palm Beach.
“I just can’t imagine that someone took Mike away,” said his brother, Dellon Sears. “Not just from his immediate family but from all of us.”
Dellon Sears said his brother was also his best friend, according to a report on wpbf.com news.
“He was real friendly. He’s one of those people that has that smile that’s inviting, that brings you to him.”
Michael Sears was married and had two young daughters. Family members said he had been shot to death, but the Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed that. No arrests have been made.
Dellon Sears said he hopes investigators find the person or people responsible for killing his brother.
“It’s not so much for them to pay for what they did to Mike, but going forward, that they’re not allowed to do this to someone else’s family,” Dellon Sears said.
The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for the funeral.
