Trinidad (Trinidad Express) – Police are investigating the death of a 70-year-old man, who was killed Tuesday morning after he was struck by a shuttle from the Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA).
According to police reports, around 4.45 a.m., Harold Weekes, of Carenage, was crossing Western Main Road in the vicinity of Ocean Breeze Hotel in Carenage.
At the same time, a shuttle from the CDA was proceeding in an easterly direction along the roadway.

The shuttle struck Weekes, throwing him several feet from the scene of impact.
The police and Emergency Health Services were notified, but Weekes, said to be a Guyanese national, succumbed to his injuries and died on the scene.
Acting Sgt. Superville is continuing investigations.
When contacted, officials from the CDA confirmed the incident and expressed their condolences to Weekes’ relatives and loved ones.
A release sent from the CDA’s corporate communications department stated: “The CDA wishes to express its deepest condolences to the friends and family of Mr Harold Weekes following his death this morning.”
It added: “The CDA has offered counseling services to the driver through its Employees Assistance Programme.”
