The Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) will field two teams in the inaugural Toronto Cup which will be played on September 4 – 6.
The tournament which is being hosted by the Ontario Masters Softball Cricket Club (OMSCC) will be played in two categories; Open and Over-44.
Floodlight Legends and Floodlight Masters are the teams that will represent the GFSCA, and will both compete in the Over-44 category along with teams from the USA and Canada. Trophies and cash prizes of over US$5,000 will be up for taking.
The preliminary rounds will be played on Friday and Saturday morning while the semi-finals will be contested on Saturday afternoon with the tournament culminating on Sunday at the University of Toronto ground.
Ashtonbee Park, Littles Park, Woburn Park and Ellesmere will host matches in the preliminary stage.
The teams will come from; Lakhram Singh, Lalta Gainda, Ramesh Sunich, Ramchand Ragbeer, Ricky Deonarain, Rohan Boj-Raj, Jailall Deodass, Ago Gopaul, Steve Narine, Pithamber Maharaj, Surendra Nauth, Yuniss Yusuf, Pooran Singh, Abdool Khan, Roger Sunich, Shakar Chowbay, Mark Lube, Rajen Paul, Ravi Lutchman, Hux Lutchman, Sydney Jackman jr, Teekchand Madho, Unos Baksh, Sudesh Persaud and Jerry Gaznabi. Managers Vannessia Narine (Floodlights Legends), Savitri Nauth (Floodlight Masters).
