Guyana has secured spots from three women in the Ladies Individual and two men in the Men’s Individual quarterfinals at the Caribbean Amateur Squash Association (CASA) Maples Senior Squash Championship in the Cayman Islands.
Ashley Khalil, Akelia Wiltshire and Mary Fung-A-Fat among the ladies, while Sunil Seth and Richard Chin for the men, were the players securing quarterfinal berths.
In the Ladies Round of 16:
(3/4 seeds) Ashley Khalil beat Amanda Haywood (BAR) 3-0 11/3,11/4,11/5 will play (5/8)Charlotte Knaggs (TRI).
(5/8) Akelia Wiltshire beat Nadia MaCarthy (BAR) 3-1 9/11, 11/3, 11/6, 11/5 will play (2) Runa Reta (Bermuda).
(5/8) Mary Fung-A-Fat beat Rachael Barnes (BER) 3-0 11/6, 11/5, 11/6 will play (1) Karen Meakins (BAR).
In the Men’s Round of 16:
(3/4) Sunil Seth beat Ashante Smith (JAM) 3-0 11/7,11/6, 11/5 will play (5/8) Micah Franklin(BER).
(5/8) Richard Chin beat Mandela Patrick (TRI) 3-1 13/11, 11/7,9/11,11/3 will play (2) Lewis Walters (JAM).
