The Essequibo Softball Cricket League in collaboration with the Guyana Softball League is to start a 10/10 tounament on the 16th of August for males and females. The 10/10 format has gained popularity in Essequibo given the excitement that has been generated over the past couple of weeks.
The tournament has an entrance fee of five thousand dollars and teams can register by calling Raghubar on telephone number 612-3973 and Brian Christian on 651-0491. This tournament is expected to attract some 80 teams (male and females) across the Cinderella county.
Additionally there will be added attractions as the body strives to include some cultural shows that will bridge the gap between communities as they showcase their various culture.
The tournament will be played with the 10/10 RULES OF THE GSL. One new rule that has been added is the entire team will have to be residents of the areas for them to be eligible to participate.
The prizes are as follows: 1st prize – male and females- $50,000 plus a trophy; runners up- $20,000 plus trophy; Man/ woman of the final- $5,000 plus trophy.
Teams are asked to register early by contacting and uplifting their forms from the above mentioned persons.
