A man was granted $175,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to a fraudulent conversion charge.
Dwayne King, 33, of lot 165 Stanleytown West Bank Demerara denied the allegation which stated that on November 15, 2014, at Georgetown being entrusted by Kwesi Maynard with the sum of two million dollars, to purchase a Toyota Premio, he fraudulently converted the money to his own use and benefit.
King’s attorney asked for his client to be released on reasonable bail since he has a fixed place of abode and is not a flight risk.
The matter was prosecuted by Police Corporal Deniro Jones.
Bail was granted and the defendant was ordered to report to the Officer in Charge of fraud at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters.
