Copa Airlines has joined the team of sponsors for the upcoming Martial Arts Championship to be staged by Tang Soo Do International-Guyana in November.
Yesterday the company handed over two round tickets to the organisers of the two-day event which will feature the Green/Black Mega Force Power Ranger, Azim Rizk. Rizk plays Jake Holling on Power Ranger Super Mega Force on Nickelodeon.
The event which will be staged on November 20 and 21, 2015 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall will feature a seminar on day one and the actual championships on day two and will see teams from the US, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and other countries competing with Guyanese teams for the coveted title. There will also be individual competitions.
Speaking at the official launch in the Conference room of Copa’s Camp St. Office, Director Tang Soo Do International-Guyana, Roland Eudoxie indicated that the event is much more than a martial arts competition since it provides an opportunity to bring children together in a productive way as well as wholesome entertainment for families.
In attendance was Director of Sports Christopher Jones who expressed the National Sports Commission’s endorsement of the event, which according to him will boost martial arts in Guyana.
“We note the excitement that will come with the black/green Power Ranger who would be gracing the shores of Guyana and once again we would like to commend the organisers and sponsors,” he added.
Copa Airlines is the carrier of choice for the visiting ‘Power Ranger’ and provided two round tickets for this purpose. “We are excited to be the carrier of choice for the black/green Power Ranger, Azim Rizk. We look forward for a lasting relationship with Tang Soo Do. I think this is an amazing opportunity for children to come out and be part of the event and for us all to witness the type of skill that is needed to be part of the martial arts community,” says Country Sales Manager, Nadine Oudkerk. The Guyana Red Cross Society is also onboard and will provide an ambulance and medical equipment in case of emergencies.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
