Cable Television provider ENetworks has joined the list of sponsors for the Berbice Cricket Board “Caricom Championship 2015” fundraiser. The tournament will now be played today at the Albion Sports Complex starting at 10:00am.
Proceeds from this event will be used mainly to organise a three day first division cricket competition for teams in Berbice.
At the presentation ceremony held recently, Berbice Manager Janet Seepersaud said that her Company is delighted to be part of this tournament. She expressed confidence in the way BCB does business over the years and they willingly provided sponsorship for this event. She added that her company is happy to be in Berbice and provides a very important service in the field of television entertainment for the entire family. In closing, Seepersaud mentioned that the people of Berbice have overwhelmingly supported the business and it is only fitting that they make contributions back to the communities.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Berbice Cricket Board was Mahendra Ramdihall, BCB representative. He thanked ENetworks for their timely and generous contribution towards this tournament. He added that the company always supports the BCB and other charities. He encouraged the general public to get hooked up with ENetworks for they provide a variety of entertainment channels at a very low cost. He called on other businesses and private individuals to come on board to help the return of three day first division cricket in the county.
The 10 overs knockout competition with a 20 overs final will see the winner collecting $80,000 and trophy, runner up $40,000 and trophy with the losing finalists $15,000 each. Man of the match in every game will be rewarded. Coloured clothing and white balls will be used.
Entrance fee is $300 for adults, children under 12 free.
