A contactor of Rusal Guyana, Arnold Barkoye, recently made claims against Mrs Yolanda Hilliman, Regional Executive Officer (REO) in Region Ten for not keeping up her end of a contractual agreement resulting in non-payment. According to Mr Barkoye he was contacted to do a series of works in Region Ten, over a period of time.
To date his attempts to get a hold of Mrs Hilliman regarding his payment have proven futile; all attempts have been in vain.
When Kaieteur News contacted the office of REO, the officer refused to comment on the matter.
It was alleged that during last year, Arnold Barkoye was contracted by Mrs. Hilliman to complete the Ituni playground which was already half-done by another contractor.
He subsequently finished the said project within seven months but was never compensated for his expenses for work done. He also noted that his vehicle was used for a period of time and no payment was ever made to him.
The contractor is of the belief that he is being spited by the Regional Officer for various reasons.
In excess of $1.5M is allegedly owed to the Mr. Barkoye for various projects he completed in Region Ten. He is now pleading with the relevant authorities to obtain the monies owed to him by Mrs Hilliman.
