An Albouystown man for whom a wanted bulletin was issued for the killing of a Mocha man, at Turning Point, Tucville, has surrendered to the police
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed that Edward Skeete called “Pretty Face” turned himself in with his lawyer yesterday.
Skeete, who was freed just five months ago for the murder of businessman, Bedi Ramjewan, was wanted for the execution-style killing of a Mocha, East Bank Demerara resident, Rayon Clementson, 27, who was shot on July 14, and succumbed two Fridays ago at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Initial reports had indicated that Clementson, who was known to the police, had only sustained a bullet wound to the upper right thigh. Another man, Ayodele Solomon, 32, was shot in the back during the same attack.
According to reports, Clementson and Solomon, of Tucville, were in the vicinity of ‘Turning Point’, located near Arapaima and Jackson Streets, Tucville, when someone shot at them.
Kaieteur News understands that Solomon, who was taken to the GPHC by a taxi driver, alleged that he was hit by a stray bullet after someone shot at another individual. After being shot, Clementson took refuge in a nearby trench. Police took him out of the trench and took him to the hospital. Although he was clearly in pain, Clementson was conscious and did not appear to be severely injured.
However, he subsequently died.
