Ex-Police Constable 6599 John July recently made contentions against the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), who he said has been giving him the royal run-around during his inquiry to resolve problems arising from the contributions he has paid and the pension he receives.
July is condemning the NIS who he said cannot locate records for a number of years during his time as a police officer.
He has presented his records to the insurance company but to date, “nothing was done about the matter.”
“I’m currently receiving $23,500 from NIS because they cannot locate my records…This is unfair… all they keep saying, they are going to investigate and they not doing anything… I presented my documents from the Police Force and they not doing anything about the matter,” John July said.
July has been a member of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) from June 20, 1984 to July 31, 2011.
During this time monies were deducted from his monthly salary as an active police officer.
According to him, the NIS cannot locate records dating between 1990 and 1997 and for the years 1999 to 2006 but according to documentation from the GPF, it clearly shows contributions were made those years.
The Ex-Police Officer is pleading with the relevant authorities to take action and ratify this ongoing issue at the NIS.
Only recently 72-year-old Richard Chandra is claiming that the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) has been doing the same to him.
