An individual who police have questioned about the slaying of political activist Courtney Crum-Ewing has now been grilled about the execution-style killing of Airmax Vulcanizing Tyre Shop owner Randolph Singh last February.
This was disclosed yesterday by a senior police official, who also said that investigators are still to locate a prime suspect in Crum-Ewing’s murder.
“We have questioned him again (about Crum-Ewing’s murder) and the same suspect was questioned about the murder of Randolph Singh,” the official said.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum had revealed last week that police had questioned a suspect in connection with the March 10, 2015 killing. He had described this as a ‘significant development.’
Police had also confirmed that they were in possession of the firearm that was used to kill the former soldier.
Crum-Ewing, a former Queen’s College student and army officer, was riddled with bullets on the evening of Tuesday March 10, 2015, as he stood on Third Avenue in the Diamond New Scheme.
A post mortem revealed that he was shot thrice in the head and twice in the chest. His killing is believed have been politically motivated.
Meanwhile, it is unclear what information what the suspect has given investigators about the February 18 death of tyre shop owner Randolph Singh.
Singh was sitting with two employees opposite his South Road premises when a gunman walked up to the trio and riddled the businessman. One of his employees was shot in the elbow. The gunman reportedly escaped on a motorcycle.
