Guyana defeated the Leeward Islands by 126 runs when the Regional U17 50-over tournament continued yesterday in Tobago.
Playing at Canaan, Guyana posted 207 all out in 48.1 overs, batting first. Ramnarine Chatura led with 39, while Joshua Persaud cracked 33, Richie Looknauth 23 not out and Ronaldo Ali Mohamed 23. Zawandi Whyte claimed 4-39 and Tassilo Allen 2-25.
Leewards were sent packing for 81 in 30.2 overs in reply. Jemuel Cabey made 23 as Bhaskar Yadram snared 3-10.
At Shaw Park, Windward Islands trounced Jamaica by 103 runs. Windwards took first strike and rattled up 225-5 off their allotted 50 overs. Johann Jeremiah struck an unbeaten 84 and Nick Elibox 50 not out. Jamaica were bowled out for 122 in 29 overs in response. Ajae Gordon made 45, Kashwayne Beale 30; Johnnel Eugene bagged 5-22 and Narun Singh 2-41.
At Louis D’Or, Trinidad & Tobago overcame Barbados by 5 wickets. Barbados batted first and were skittled for 82 in 21.4 overs. Shian Brathwaite scored 35; Nathaniel Mc David grabbed 5-22 and Kirstan Kallicharran 2-4. Trinidad and Tobago replied with 86-5 in 24.2 overs. Keagan Simmons slammed 40 and Cephas Cooper 21; Donte Nile took 3-9.
