Some amount of controversy has developed surrounding the arraignment of a Corporal
attached to police ‘B’ Division, for traffic violations.
Orlanzo Webster, 32, attached to the Central Police Station appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs Marcus on Wednesday at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court.
The Hopetown Village West Coast Berbice resident is accused of driving an uncertified motor vehicle and using a tinted vehicle without the necessary permit.
Webster pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Police Prosecutor Sergeant Phillip Shariff did not object to bail and Webster was sent on his own recognizance. He has to return to court on July 17 for trial.
Webster is claiming that he is being victimized by a senior Police Officer which goes back some time when they were both stationed in Georgetown.
