Both games scheduled for Georgetown yesterday in the Digicel National Schools Football tournament were not played, St Mary’s and Chase Academy advancing due to Walk-Overs.
At the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue the contest between Chase Academy and Kingston was not played due to inability of the students from Kingston to provide proof of their age by birth certificate or National Identification Card.
The game at the Tucville ground was also not played for the same reason when Houston team turned up without the birth certificates or ID Cards and St Mary’s claimed a walk over.
Lavern Fraser, the Coordinator of the tournament, stressed that the schools were required to provide proof of their student’s age before they are allowed to participate.
Frazer added that the organizers would go as far as to call schools to remind them of this requirement and said that yesterday both schools were guilty of breaching that regulation.
