St. Roses High School continued its winning ways on Saturday when the Georgetown Regional Conference of the National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
St. Roses defeated Guyana Trust College 44-6 in an Under-14 game with Anthony Yansen scoring 12 points with eight rebounds and Trevon Miller 10 points and 11 rebounds. For Trust College, Eze Baird had four points and three rebounds.
St. Roses then returned to win again, this time against Bishop’s High School in a U-19 contest 59-46 with Nathan Saul pouring in 24 points and Stephan Joseph completing a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Timothy Thompson had 16 points and 15 rebounds while Daniel Haynes scored 18 points and nine rebounds for Bishop’s High.
In the U-16 category, St. Joseph beat Christ Church 35-17 with Shamar Spooner scoring 12 points and grabbing five rebounds. Scott Garraway scored six points.
Queens College beat St. Johns College 26-19 with Omari Joseph scoring 22 points and grabbing eight rebounds. For St. Johns, Nicholas Clarke had 13 points and five rebounds.
Marian Academy defeated North Georgetown 61-25 with Joshua Brazao scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Jahleel Young also had 14 points and seven rebounds for Marian. Devon Hazel had seven points and seven rebounds for North Ruimveldt.
