Gibson Primary registered victories in the boys and girls categories when the Ministry of Education Department of Sport-Al Sport and Tour Promotion Windball tournament continued at Unity/Lancaster ground, East Coast of Demerara.
Gibson overcame Mahaica Primary by four runs in the boys segment. Gibson batted first and managed 51-6 with Samuel Moses scoring 15 and Afraz Hassan 13. Mahaica replied with 47-3. Trevon Adams made 17 and Omari Walcott 10.
Meanwhile, Gibson & Ann’s Grove played to a tie.
In the girls division, Gibson beat Ann’s Grove by one run. Batting first, Gibson scored 48-1. Roshini Shivtahal and Sheniss Henry got 12 each. Ann’s Grove responded with 47-5. Annika Alleyne cracked 14 and Tonya Herod 10.
Gibson got the better of Mahaica by six runs in their encounter. Gibson posted 33-1 off five overs taking first strike. Shavanne Sukhu slammed 20 and Shennis Henry 10. Mahaica were restricted for 27-1 in reply. Esther Wickhon made 15 and Loyrren Barrack 12; Sheniss Henry grabbed three wickets.
