The Dhierendranauth Somwaru led senior selection panel of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has named a strong team for the upcoming female senior inter county tournament. The team, which includes three West Indies cricketers that toured Sri Lanka recently, was selected after several intense sessions.
Batting all rounder Shemaine Campbell will Captain the team with fast- bowling all-rounder Tremayne Smartt as her deputy. Pacer Sabrina Munroe is the other West Indies player in the 14-member squad.
Former national player Andre Percival and Abena Schultz returns as coach and manager respectively. The players will be met by members of the Board before departure to Georgetown.
The full team is: Shemaine Campbell (captain), Tremayne Smartt (v/captain), Melanie Henry, Katana Mentore, Natasha Gangoo, Tamesha Cort, Trishanie Cort, Shenetta Grimmond, Plafianna Millington, Erva Giddings, Sabrina Munroe, Sherika Campbell, Steffi Rodney, Devona Frank
STANDBYS: Nagama Budhu, Shana Vanderstoop, Shabika Gajnabi, Erica Batson, Diana Prahalad, Christine Quintyn, Monet Crandon, Aleema Arokium.
