The Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) has congratulated its players selected to represent Guyana at the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
“Congratulations to Linden’s breed, Shanna Chester and Nichola Jacobs along with the captain Miriam Mckenzie and the entire national team, may the Almighty keep, guide and protect you all as the team represents our beautiful nation,” the LABA said in a press release.
The LABA also congratulated Linden’s Chris Williams, Harold Adams and Terron Welch along with the entire male team presently in training; they will depart to the BVI, Tortola to be part of the CBC Championships this weekend.
“To show our appreciation to the Linden players selected to represent our beautiful developing country, LABA and friend gladly provided a monetary contribution to those females mentioned. Same will be provided for the males,” the release noted.
The national female team departed Guyana last Saturday morning for Tortola. They played in the first game last night. Guyana is looking to improve its 2014 performance that landed Ginelle Ifill a full scholarship to a college in Texas, United States of America.
