The Georgetown Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association (GCUSA) will commence its annual training for umpires at 17:00 hrs today at Demerara Cricket Club.
Classes will be held on every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs thereafter. The sessions will be facilitated by former international umpire Eddie Nicholls, Nigel Duguid, Colin Alfred, Shannon Crawford, and Matthew Kissoon while Guyana Cricket Board secretary Anand Sanasie will address the gathering before the classes commence.
The sessions are being held for new and aspiring umpires, current and practicing umpires, cricketers, captains, coaches, cricket administrators, journalists and sports personalities. Persons desirous of writing the preliminary examination must attend at least 80% of the lecturers.
