All national teams to benefit; fans also catered for
By Franklin Wilson
With Guyana set to start its campaign in the CONCACAF leg of FIFA World Cup Qualifying for Russia 2018 on Wednesday in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, the Golden Jaguars would be donning brand new kits compliments of business deal with International Sports wear suppliers, Admiral.
The attractive kits including tee shirts for spectators are part of a four year deal inked by Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Normalisation Committee Chairman, Clinton Urling. GFF Director of Marketing and Communication Rawle Toney in briefing the media yesterday stated that all the national teams (male & female) will benefit from this business partnership with Admiral.
“GFF is now the official supplier and distributor of Admiral national team gear here in Guyana, so all clubs, all teams and anyone wanting Admiral would come through the Guyana Football Federation. Fan jerseys are available for the June 14th game presently only at the GFF office for $2000 and we have the players replica for $6,000.”
Toney said they are urging all fans to start supporting the Golden Jaguars from now as they leave today for Wednesday’s game against St. Vincent & the Grenadines at the Arnos Vale Playing Field from 15:30hrs.
It was also disclosed by Toney that unlike previous kit arrangements the GFF entered into which saw them receiving cash, this Admiral deal is different.
“In this case, everything that is sold the GFF gets a percentage of it. So you could actually go online at Admiral Sports Wear and you can actually purchase official Golden Jaguar gear and replicas. The GFF actually gets a percentage of whatever is sold by Admiral.”
Admiral is a legendary brand that is worn by some of the biggest names in the sporting world including the English National Team, Manchester United, the New York Cosmos and most recently the West Indies Cricket team.
Admiral has supplied most of the current English Premier League (EPL) teams in addition to being the largest brand in the original North American Soccer League (NASL). They are also a major player in the North American and international markets.
The company is the second largest football brand supplying professional teams in the U.S. and Canada in addition to supplying competitive and recreational teams.
