Dawn Hastings has been sworn in as a Minister within the Ministry of Communities, taking the number of ministers of the new government to 26.
The politician is the newest Minister to be appointed to A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change-led (APNU+AFC) government. However, according to the Government Information Agency (GINA) only 15 of the Ministers will serve in the Cabinet.
Hastings was sworn in yesterday by President David Granger, at the Ministry of the Presidency before other government ministers.
Also taking the oath of office as Vice Presidents were Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge, and Minister of Indigenous People’s Affairs, Sydney Allicock.
Previously, Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo was sworn in as First President, and Minister of National Security, Khemraj Ramjattan was appointed second Vice President.
Head of the Ministry of the Presidency is APNU’s Joseph Harmon.
