With Guyana-born Halima Yusuf at its helm, FRX International Drugs (FRXID) is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in the global pharmaceutical industry.
The Maryland-based export company is one that currently provides easy access to US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved prescription drugs and health care products directly to Consumers, Doctors, Hospitals and Pharmacies in more than 100 countries.
Yusuf recently related to this publication that FRXID is able to achieve a high standard of quality by adhering strictly to US Pharmacopeia and FDA guidelines on the manufacturing and dispensing of drugs, thereby ensuring that only quality US products that are safe for consumers worldwide are available.
As Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Yusuf has had a very influential role in steering the ever-evolving business. In fact she indicated that she used her upbringing in Guyana as inspiration to create the company.
According to her, the scarcity of proper pharmacy care and knowing the facts relating to the medication and its usability drove her to create a company where people around the world can have access to the same standards of products available in the United States.
“We have spent years dissecting the complex process of securing a safe and effective channel that provides the level of pharmacy products that anyone can enjoy,” Yusuf stated.
And you can be sure that this endeavour will be sustained with the now 43-year-old Yusuf in the forefront. Yusuf, who left Guyana at the age of 22, grew up in La Jalousie on the West Coast of Demerara. Her first job was at the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Fire & Life Insurance Companies (GTM). However it was months after this that she landed her dream job, a teller at the Bank of Baroda, in Georgetown. She would remain there for three years until migrating to the United States.
But while she has a keen focus on her growing business, which has a particular focus on providing quality US Health and Wellness products to consumers in Guyana and all of the Caribbean Region, Yusuf recently indicated that “my passion is my family; my husband and two young boys.”
And her husband, Feeroze Yusuf, is a crucial support to the business, since according to Yusuf he has spent the last 20 years in the development of new drugs in the US.
“He has been my greatest supporter and champion in encouraging me to follow my dream and passion of providing the highest quality of US pharmacy products to consumers around the world,” revealed Yusuf.
“Creating a company where consumers around the world could have access to the highest standards of pharmaceutical products that we enjoy in the United States, where quality and consumer satisfaction goes hand in hand, has been a dream of mine for over a decade,” Yusuf reflected.
And according to her, “Over the years our passion intensified to provide US FDA-approved medications so that the people in other countries despite economic and social insecurity may have access to the same standards of drugs that we have in the United States.”
And this move is premised on her knowledge that many people who live outside of the US have difficulty maintaining a high standard of pharmacy care. But with FRXID, those limitations are expected to be a thing of the past.
“We provide a system and process that makes it easy and affordable for anyone overseas to order US pharmacy products from us by simply emailing us a list of items, sending us a copy of the doctor’s prescription, or filling out the product request form online,” Yusuf said.
Yusuf has however made it clear that FRXID is not an internet pharmacy, thus individual product pricing is not available on the site.
“Our business model is unique, based on our authenticity to provide quality US products,” she asserted. “We have made it easy for people around the world to do business with us by providing a very functional site that can be translated in any language, with easy-to-use currency converters and access to track packages,” Yusuf added.
