Dear Sports Editor,
On behalf of the executives and members of the North Essequibo Cricket Committee, I wish to extend heartiest congratulations to the APNU/AFC victory at the recent polls. I am eagerly looking forward to working closely with the new Administration for the promotion of good governance especially in the field of sports and in particular cricket.
I am confident that His Excellency Mr. David Granger and Prime Minister Mr. Moses Nagamootoo will create an environment of inclusivity, fairness and accountability in all facets of public duty and realize the full potential of this country. In this regard I am extremely hopeful that the cricket administration at the level of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) will be swiftly examined and amicably resolved to the mutual satisfaction of all stake holders wishing to see that the sport is governed in a transparent and democratic manner.
The North Essequibo Cricket Committee is assuring the new Administration of its unwavering support and cooperation in developing cricket at all levels on the Essequibo Coast as we endeavor to promote healthy lifestyles, core principles of mutual respect, unity in diversity and a Committee that is driven by achieving realistic goals.
I am therefore appealing to all other cricketing bodies to embrace the new administration in fostering a unified effort for the advancement and sustainable success of cricket in Guyana. My best wishes to APNU/AFC.
