– Baldeo spearheads Albion to double victories
Middle order batsmen, Joel Johnson, blasted 5 fours and 4 sixes in scoring 56 which together with 35
from Levi Thomas and 34 from Nazrudin Bux saw Cheskoy Riders posting 206 for 6 in 20 overs against Whim National, the highest score by a team in the competition so far. Johnson then came back with his off-spin and took 3 for 29 from 33 overs, which together with other 3-wicket hauls from Ravindra Hardyal and Sheldon Phillips saw Whim restricted to 169 all-out in 19.3 overs.
Guyana Under-19 all-rounder Balchand Baldeo led Albion Community Centre to two consecutive victories in their latest matches. In the match against Travellers of Albion Front, he took 3 wickets for 3 runs from 2.2 overs with his off-spin to see them bowled out for 45. He then scored a quickfire 30 to see Albion to 10-wicket win. In the next match against Fyrish Road, Baldeo took 2 for 7 from 3 overs and Berbice under-15 left arm spinner Kelvin Umrao 4 for 13 from 4 overs to skittle them out for 55. Baldeo opened the batting again and this time he scored 43 not out, to lead Albion to a second consecutive 10-wicket win.
