A man frequently accused of stealing bicycles, was brought before the court and remanded to prison
for robbery under arms.
Kevin Mingo, 23, of Guyhoc Park, denied that on April 27, last, at Albouystown, while being armed with a gun, he robbed Anfernie Catanzaro of two gold chains.
Mingo, a gold miner, further denied that on the day in question, at the same location, he robbed Patrick Dundas of two gold chains valued $113,000.
According to Corporal Bharrat Mangru, Dundas and Catanzaro were about to enter a car parked on James Street, when the accused rode up on his bicycle, pulled out a gun and relieved them of the articles mentioned in the charge. The prosecution added that Mingo after the robbery, tried to escape on the said bicycle but was caught by the victims.
Bail was denied after the prosecution objected to it, on the grounds of the seriousness, prevalence and penalty attached to the offence.
His next court date will be May 19.
