Cardiff City striker Nicky Maynard would consider accepting a call up to the Guyana national
football team should the country seriously put forward an offer. The former West Ham United player believes the move would be a great opportunity to expand his career.
“It is an opportunity I would seriously consider and accept if I am approached to do so. Playing international football is a huge privilege, and it would be an honour to be involved in the World Cup Qualifiers,” Maynard said.
Guyana will be playing St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Round 2 action of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in June, in and a home and away series.
“Once the paperwork is filled and I get a passport sorted out then that would be a day to rejoice and to represent Guyana. Let us see how things progress. I still have a few games left with Cardiff City, so in May I will think about it.” (Digicelsportsmax)
