Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) Selection Committee has named their two teams that will contest the Club’s Silver Jubilee Anniversary Ansa McAl sponsored May Day 5-overs tournament at the Area ‘H’ ground.
All the action is slated for Friday May 1st, next and will see a total of 12teams taking part. They are Rose Hall Town Bakewell ‘A’, Rose Hall Town Bakewell ‘B’, Young Warriors, Courtland, Fyrish, Chesney, Jai Hind, Block 4 Tain, Tamarind Root of Hampshire, Whim, Albion and Yakusari of Black Bush Polder.
Organized by the clubs Cricket Development Committee, play will commence at 09:00hrs and the winner would take home $70,000 and trophy. There would also be prizes for the man-of-the-finals, best batsman and best bowler while funds raised would be used for the RHTYSC Cricket Nursery Programme and massive anti-drugs/suicide programmes which targets over 60,000 youths in Berbice.
Rose Hall Town Bakewell ‘A’ team: James Fraser (Captain), Vidal Crandon, Khemraj Mahadeo, Delbert Hicks, Akshay Homraj, Jason Alexander, Brandon Prasad, Mark Papannah, Roydel Lewis, Erva Giddings, Sherain Murray, Slyus Tyndal, Mark Fernandes, Joel Pike, Ryan O’Dell and Joshua Wilson.
Rose Hall Town Bakewell ‘B’ team comes from: Junior Williams, Surendra Kissoonlall, Surendra Budhoo, Kevlon Anderson, Clive Harry, Simon Lawson, Ryan Tillack, Azam Khan, Kumar Jeet Joseph, Sunil Madimutoo, Joshua Gobin, Vitindra Kumar, Denzil Sinclair and Samuel Lewis.
According to club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster, they would be organizing three more tournaments similar to the Ansa McAl 5-overs along with the Busta Champion of Champions, this year.
They would also be hosting a double wicket tournament in the fourth quarter of the year. The finals of the 2014 Busta Champion of Champions competition would be contested on April 25 at the Albion Community Centre ground under lights.
Arch Rivals RHT Gizmos and Gadgets and Albion are the team clashing for the top prize of $100,000.
